Miercuri, 11 mai 2016, ora 17.00., aColegiul Sfinţii Martiri Brâncoveni si Fundaţia Profesor George Manu vă invită la seara comemorativă: “George Manu – Rectorul din Zarca Aiudului”. Conferinţa va avea loc la Curtea Brâncovenească (strada Vasile Lupu nr. 43-45, zona Capitol).
În luna aprilie s-au împlinit 55 de ani de la moartea Profesorului George Manu. Savant creştin de renume mondial, conducător al Mişcării Nationale de Rezistenţă, deţinut politic în Zarca Aiudului, George Manu a plecat la Domnul în aprilie 1961 refuzând asistenţa medicală condiţionată de colaborarea cu regimul comunist. A murit transmiţând colegilor deţinuti şi prin ei neamului românesc: “Să spuneţi tuturor că nu am făcut niciun compromis”, “Fiţi credincioşi idealurilor voastre şi rămâneţi demni”.
